This project has sought to review the current practices and performance of the live goat export industry following the previous project entitled ‘Minimising Mortality Risks During Export of Live Goats by Sea from Australia’. The project was conducted at a time when the greater majority of goat exports are by air rather than long-haul exports by sea. The report details knowledge gaps and prioritises research to address identified issues and outlined a developed ‘best practice’ guide for the preparation of goats for export.
