The study was conducted to observe the operation of Mark I and Mark II restraining boxes and the design of lairage, raceways and forcing pens in Indonesian abattoirs. The study also observed the behaviour of abattoir staff and identified critical control points within abattoirs and make recommendations to improve animal welfare.
