This manual was designed to assist in standardising the approach to the treatment and management of animals that are identified as sick, injured, weak or physiologically unsuitable for transport and to ensure animal welfare is optimised. The handbook topics include; the treatment and management of common diseases and conditions that cause rejection of cattle and sheep prior to export, the criteria for assessment of when and where to monitor, treat or euthanasia stock and the recommended management of rejected animals prior to road transport.
