The ‘Livestock handling guide’ covers a number of topics that include; OIE animal welfare standards, the commercial benefits of improved animal welfare, flight zones of animals, herd behaviour, animal senses and communicating with animals. The guide includes a booklet and flip-cards that can be used by personnel working on-board, vessels, unloading and loading vessels, truck drivers, feedlot employees and abattoir workers.
