This study incorporated a review of the current knowledge and shipboard processes of ventilation in cattle and involved six long haul voyages of cattle transported from Australia to the Middle East.

This study incorporated a review of the current knowledge and shipboard processes of ventilation in cattle and involved six long haul voyages of cattle transported from Australia to the Middle East.

The report found wet bulb temperature to be an important index of cattle comfort and identified the need to update ventilations outlined in AMSA MO43. The report was an important contribution to the development of heat stress risk assessment model known as ‘Hot Stuff’.
