The objective of this project was to determine the rate, causes and predisposing factors of mortality for live export sheep as well as the relative mortality risk for different lines of sheep.

The objective of this project was to determine the rate, causes and predisposing factors of mortality for live export sheep as well as the relative mortality risk for different lines of sheep. The project tracked Australian sheep exported in 24 shipments between September 2005 and June 2008, from farm of origin to port of discharge. The report identified the most common causes of mortality and other associated risk factors and details recommendations for reducing mortality.
