There is significant public interest in the Australian live export industry, and a need to develop a program that can measure and monitor animal welfare throughout the supply chain.

This milestone report includes:

  • Survey - Results from a stakeholder survey conducted between March and June 2015 to determine stakeholder preference for a number of welfare indicators. 
  • Benchmarking system (draft) - A list of recommendations of welfare indicators suitable for the livestock export industry as a benchmarking program.
