This guide highlights the importance of understanding and communicating effectively with animals to ultimately improve animal welfare and productivity in the Middle East and Africa.

The guide covers a number of topics that include; OIE animal welfare standards, the commercial benefits of improved animal welfare, flight zones of animals, herd behaviour, animal senses and communicating with animals. The guide includes a booklet and flip-cards that can be used by personnel working on-board, vessels, unloading and loading vessels, truck drivers, feedlot employees and abattoir workers.

The guide complements the Do's and don’ts of guide of livestock handling and is available in English, Arabic and Malaysian.
