As you may be aware, Federal Agriculture Minister Tony Burke announced that there would be a Productivity Commission review into the 15 rural research and development corporations (RDCs).
The Minister announced that the review will focus on ensuring the RDC model works as efficiently as possible and delivers the best possible value for money for levy and tax payers. The Minister stressed on several occasions that he was not critical of the existing RDC model, but that he wants to ensure that RDCs share costs, collaborate and co-invest in research wherever possible.
