Sheep export numbers decreased by 15.4% in 2009 to 3,567,609, down from 4,214,989 in 2008. The value increased slightly however by $1.8 million during the same period to $322,960,587. Kuwait was again the largest importer of live sheep in 2009. Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan were the next three largest importers of Australian sheep. Financial year 2008/2009 total was 4,066,726 with a value of $340 million. This is a decrease of 0.8% volume and an increase of 18.4% value on previous financial year figures.
